Promoting Safety & Environmental Stewardship
The Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe works with government agencies, labour organizations, and mining companies to ensure zero harm and injury across mining operations nationwide. We partner with the Ministry of Mines (Mining Engineering Inspectorate), NSSA, and the Environmental Management Agency (EMA).
The SHE Standing Committee
Governed by the Safety & Accident Prevention Charter, the SHE Standing Committee evaluates safety data, coordinates first aid competitions, conducts environmental audits, and guides industry safety policy.

Frequency & Severity Competition
Monitors Lost Time Injuries (LTI), Fatality-Free shifts, and awards top safety performers annually.
First Aid Competitions
Denzel Dunn Competition encouraging emergency response proficiency and first aid certification.
Environmental Audits
Annual SHE and ISO/NOSSA environmental audits promoting sustainability across large and small-scale operations.
Mine Rescue Association
Coordinates mine rescue teams across North, Central, South, and West mining zones in Zimbabwe.
